Gender equity is the process of changing men's and women's stereotypical mentalities, a mindset that firmly holds that men and women are unequal beings. Gender Equity Programmes try to inform individuals on the distinctions between sex and gender, the social construction of gender, and gender stereotypes. It helps students distinguish between gender stereotypes that are accurate and those that are not. Gender sensitization aims to increase working professionals' knowledge of the importance of gender sensitivity in the workplace. People who are insensitive to the demands of one gender could find it difficult to understand the needs of the other.
