YOUTH RED CROSS (YRC)

The Red Cross is an international organisation meant for humanitarian services. It is a non-religious, non-political and non-sectarian institutional body. The Youth Red Cross (YRC) represents a substantial part of the membership of the Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within communities through Red Cross youth programme. This has been designed to involve young peiople as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers but also as beneficiaries.

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) wing was started in RIHS in 1996. The objective of this wing is to inculcate the ideas of peace and social service among that of others. The aim of YRC is to promote health care, service to the sick and the suffering, and encourage international friendliness. A member of the the teaching staff is nominated as counselor by the principal. A fee of Rs. 10/- is collected from all the students of the college for the purpose.
